### ?
? You`ll be shown a list of all for your Level possible
Commands.
? <CMD> For the <CMD> (i.e: BOARD, TIME...) a helping text will
be shown, which describes the command itself and all possible
parameters.
### CALL
Call Lists the activity of the User before you and your last
activities in this system.
### SENDER
Sender <No> This command allows you to reedit the sender of a message.
To quit just press <RETURN> at the userprompt.
If you don`t enter <No> you`ll be prompted for it.
### ACTIVITY
Activity Shows a list of the activities from the last users i.e.
Call#, Time, Msgs ...)
Activity KILL Erases an existing activityfile.
### ANNOUNCEMENT
ANnouncement Command to edit the announcement of your postbox.
It will be shown to a user, if he writes a letter to you.
Press <RETURN> two times to leave the old announcement.
### ADRESS
ADress This command allows you to edit your personal datas
(Name, Adress, Phone, Birthday), that NOONE else will see
except YOU and the SYSOP, not even a CO-SYSOP !!!
### ANSICOLORS
ANsicolors A list of colors including their names and ansi-codes to
regulate the colors to the ANSI-standard.
### APPLYCATION
APplycation To get a membership to this system and for a postbox,
where only YOU are allowed to read msgs.
Without this applycation you only have little access to the
many commands, that this system allows the users
(i.e: read msgs, up/downloads, more boards ...)
No other user will see this personal datas except YOU and
the SYSOP !
### ARCHIVE
ARchive <No> Shows the contents of the archive <No> packed with ARC, ZOO,
LHARC or ZIP in the actual board. This list includes the
sizes before/after packing, date percentage gained ...
If you don`t enter <No> you`ll be prompted for it.
### SPEED
SPeed This command tests the average speed of the system by sending
a CHR$(0) to the serial device. (a `0` is chosen because
then your screen will not be filled up with many crazy
characters.
### SYstemusage
SYstemusage List of the system`s usage in % today and for the last 14
days in a graphic shape of arrows whose length is equal to
the percentage of the system`s usage.
Besides there is shown the usage in percent, the number of
calls and the onlinetime over all.
### BOARD
Board List of all boards with new msgs/files for your level
since your last login.
Board * List of all boards in this system for your level.
Board ** Change the active board using the cursor-keys (works ONLY
with VT100)
Board <NAME> Enter the board <NAME>. If this board doesn`t exist, an
errormessage will occur.
The names of the boards dont need to be typed in full
length. You only have to type the significant characters
that the system can find the differences between the
boards and choose the right one for you.
### B-INFOS
B-Infos Long listing of the possible boards for your level
including the no. of msgs inside the board, the date of
the last message and a little notice that describes the
board itself in a short form.
### SUBJECT
SUbject <No> With this command you`re able to re-edit the subject of
the message <No>. Press <RETURN> for the old subject.
If you don`t enter <No> you`ll be prompted for it.
### LETTER
Letter <USER> Write <USER> a very persoal message.
If you don`t enter <USER> you`ll be prompted for it.
Press <RETURN> at this prompt to exit the command.
### CHAT
Chat Page the SYSOP for a little chat.
If you`ve activated the VT100-Emulation, the system
allows you to choose between 2 chat-modes:
1. the normal On-line-chat
including the following commands:
- <.R> show your remaining time today
- <.V> show the elapsed time since your login
- <.Z> show the actual date and time
- <.G> show the call`s cost till now
- <.M> turn off the chatsong :-) (For the SYSOP)
- <.?> list a Chat-cmd overview
2. a Double-Talk mode where the SYSOP and the user can
type at the same time !
### CRUNCH
CRunch Renumbers the actual board after erasing msgs/files.
CRunch C Only counts all Msgs (PM`s, AM`s) and files.
CRunch # Same as `CRunch` including counting common mails, private
mails and binary files to update the system-statistics.
Crunch is run in the postbox each time you erase a msg.
### CURSOR
CUrsor To enter your own cursordatas for the VT100 emulation.
This datas are used at the commandprompt to use the history
function (like a SHELL) and in the Full-Screen-Editor.
### DOS
DOs Dos-Shell (protected by a password)
### DOWNLOAD
Download 10 Send the binary file No.10 to you.
Download 10-20 Send the binary files No.10 - No.20 to you.
Download 1,4,7 ... Send the binary files 1,4,7 etc to you.
There are 5 protocols available at this moment:
1. X-Modem Checksum
2. X-Modem CRC
3. X-Modem CRC-1k
4. Z-Modem CRC-16
5. Z-Modem CRC-32
If you type this command on mistake, you can abort it by
pressing `A` at the protocolprompt.
The protocol can even be chosen with the command FLAGS.
If you do so, you won`t be prompted for a protocol.
If you don`t enter <No> you`ll be prompted for it.
### DATE
DAte To set a new date to distinguish old/new msgs/files.
You have to enter the date in the following way:
DD/MM/YYYY (DD = day, MM = month, YYYY = year)
### EDIT
Edit BOARD Online edit an existing or a new board.
Edit USER Online edit an existing userfile or a new user.
Edit BOX Edit system`s preferences.
A menu with the following functions appears:
1. Userdatas (Onlinetime & level)
2. Systemdefaults (Boxdirectory, speeces ...)
3. Modemdefaults
4. NET-defaults
5. ALT-Keys
6. External programs
Edit LEVEL Edit the level of a single user or of all users.
### RECEIPTION
Receiption Shows a list of all sent Msgs and whether they`re read or
not.
Receiption G Lists all already read Msgs.
Receiption N Lists all not yet read Msgs.
Receiption KILL Erases the Receiption-protocol.
Every time you write a private Msg, the SMBX-System stores
a protocol of that. And if the receiver reads this Msg, the
protocol is updated with the Date of the reading.
Next time, you enter the System, the Msg will be shown you
as acknowledged and after your Logoff, the entry is erased
in the protocol.
### END
ENd Exit the system in the right way (without dropping the
carrier yourself :-)
### ERROR
ERror Listing of the errorfile that describes occured errors
a little specific.
ERror KILL Erase a perhaps existing errorfile.
### EXTERN
EXtern External program/gamemenu.
### FILEINFO
Fileinfo <No> Lists an infotext for the file <No> typed by the uploader.
The reason of this text is to describe the uploaded file
a little bit better as it`s possible to do in the subject.
### FLAGS
FLags Edit your system`s preferences :
- VT100 on/off
- Direction of listing OLD -> NEW / NEW -> OLD
- CLS on/off (if VT100 is switched on, it won`t work all
times, because some commands then need a CLS
i.e: Board *, User * ...)
- Loginmessages on/off.
- Choose Filetransferprotocol.
- Define the language, that is loaded every login.
### GROUP
Group Selects a group of users, to send everyone of them the
same private letter with te command `SEND >GROUP`.
Your own group will be stored with your userfile and can
be used as long as it exists.
### HELP
Help Same usage and parameters as <?>.
Help <CMD> This kind of helping text for every possible <CMD>.
### HALL_OF_FAME
HAll_of_fame Generates a listing about the 15 most active useres.
There are shown: calls at all, onlinetime over all, common
messages, private messages, uploads and
downloads.
### LIST
__
List Lists all new entries. \
List * Lists all entries. \
List 10 Lists entry No.10 \ in the actual
List 10- Lists all entries from No.10 to end. \__ board or in
List -10 Lists all entries from start to No.10 / postbox.
List 10-20 Lists all entries from No.10 to No.20 /
List #<USER> Lists all entries from <USER>. /
List Z<count> List all entries with <count> reads __/
### SIGNATURE
SIgnature To edit your personal signature (password) for this system.
Upper/lower case is distinguished here !!!
(Please use this command often to make sure that no other
user can login himself with your datas !!!)
### KILL
KIll BOARD Kill a board that is no longer useful.
KIll USER Kill a (boring :-) user.
after using this command the system prompts you to generate
a new boards/userlist. The sence of that is that if you
kill several boards/users the system does not create a new
list every time.
But after killing the last board/user you MUST (!) answer
this prompt with `J` because a wrong list will case a
Software-Error when changing into a not existing board.
### MARK
Mark List all marked boards.
Mark + Mark a Board as non-interesting. This board will then not be
shown with the commands `BOARD`, `BOARD *`, `B-INFOS` and
`SCANNER`, but nevertheless you can change into the board by
typing `BOARD <NAME>`.
Mark - Show a marked board from now.
The name of the board will be added `NET-` with activated
NET-Mail and `LOC-` with activated Local-Mail, but it mustn`t
be entered !
### OVERVIEW
Overview This command shows a short listing of ALL commands of this
system including all possible parameters and a short
description to each one.
### READ
_
Read Read all new entries. \
Read * Read all entries. \
Read 10 Read entry No. 10 \
Read 10- Read entries from No.10 to end. \__in the actual board
Read -10 Read entries from start to No.10 / or in your postbox.
Read 10-20 Read entries from No.10 to No.20 /
Read 1,3,5,7... Read entries No. 1,3,5,7 ... /
Read #<USER> Read all entries from <USER>. _/
After each message a prompt with the following parameters
appears:
<A> - Abort (helpful when reading `*` or <No>-<No> )
<B> - Write a private letter to the sender of the msg.
<R> - Reply a message
<N> - Re-Edit a message (only possible if
- Yoe are the sender of the msg
- You are the SYSOP
- You are the representative of the board
<K> - Kill the msg (with the same restrictions as
parameter <N> )
<S> - Jump to another msg. After reading the message you
jumped to, the system continues reading with the
msg that followes the msg you jumped from.
<W> - Forward the msg to a board/user.
<Z> - Read the source-msg if this msg is a reply
<?> - List a short help for the replyprompt
<CR> - Read next msg or if this was the last one go back
to the commandprompt.
### ERASE
ERase Same parameters as <Read> except <#USER> and <Nr>,<Nr> ...
### LOCAL
LOCal If NET-Mail is active then switch to LOCAL-Mail.
### LOGOFF
LOgoff Exit the system in the right way (without dropping the
carrier yourself :-)
### RE-EDIT
RE-edit <No> Re-edit msg <No> with the message-editor.
If VT100 is activated you can choose between the normal
and the Full-Screen-Editor.
If you don`t enter <No> you`ll be prompted for it.
### NEAR-AREA
NEar-area A list of all cities in the near area of this system.
### NET
NEt If LOCAL-Mail is active then switch to NET-Mail.
### NEWUSERS
NEWusers LIST A list of all users that applied for membership since the
last `KILL`.
NEWusersKILL Erases an existing newuser-file.
### OPERATOR
Operator See `CHAT` :-)
### PASSWORD
Password Edit your personal signature (password) for this system.
Upper/lower case is distinguished here !!!
(Please use this command often to make sure that no other
user can login himself with your datas !!!)
### POSTBOX
POstbox To change to your personal postbox from every board.
### PROMPT
PRompt Design your own commandprompt (MS-DOS conventions).
Looks like this:
$R - Show your remaining time today in minutes.
$T - Show the actual Time.
$D - Show the actual Date.
$P - Show the actual board (or postbox)
$C - Print a CR/LF
$G - Show the costs of this call since login.
All other ASCII-chars are printed as entered.
### PROTOCOL
PROTocol List a protocol of the last callers with a little overview
of their activities (username, login, logintime, bps ...)
List direction: NEW -> OLD
PROTocol + List the callers protocol in reverse direction.
(OLD -> NEW)
PROTocol KILL Erases an existing protocolfile.
### RELOGIN
Relogin End the loginsession and re-enter the system without
calling again.
(to let a friend enter the system at the same call :-)
### RENAME
REName <USER> Rename a user.
REName <BOARD> Rename a board.
If the parameter is not entered you will be prompted for
<B>oard / <U>ser.
REName <FILE> Rename a binary file.
### DIRECTION
Direction A switch to change the direction of the file/msg listing
from OLD to NEW and reverse.
This commabd is also available at the SCANNER with the
parameter <R>.
### CIRCULAR_MSG
Circular_msg Send a msg to all usere of the system.
### WRITE
Write Write a msg into the actual board (except postbox)
Write <USER> Write a msg to another user of the system.
Write >GROUP Write a msg to all users of a self-designed group.
### SCANNER
SCAnner Search in all boards for new messages.
SCAnner C Start scanning from the actual board.
SCAnner D<DATE> Set the distinguishing date for the scanner as a parameter
<DATE> must be entered like `DD.MM.YYYY`, but you don`t
have to enter the full Date-string.
Example: last LOGOFF-Date : 12.06.1990
Scanner Syntax : SCA D05
Result : scanning from 05.06.1990
If a board contains new messages, a prompt with the
following parameters appears:
<I> - List the contents of the board
<A> - Abort the scanner
<L> - Read all new messages (only inside ASCII-boards)
<V> - View a single message (only inside ASCII-boards)
<D> - Download a file (only inside BINARY-boards)
<U> - Upload a file (only inside BINARY-boards)
<S> - Write into the board (only inside ASCII-boards)
<?> - Show a helping text about the parameters
<R> - Reverse the direction of the listing
<-> - Jump to the previous board containing new messages
<CR>- To the next board containing new messages
When searching for a board with new messages you can abort
by pressing <CTRL-X> or <ESC>.
### SEARCH
SEArch Search in all binary-boards the user has access to for
the entered filename, either for the full name or with
jokering.
The available modes are:
<A> Search inside the actual board (except postbox)
<G> Search inside all boards
At the end of the search the No. of files looked and
found is printed.
Can be aborted by pressing <CTRL-X> or <ESC>.
### SEND
SEnd The same parameters as <Write>. Look there :-)
### INITIALS
INitials This command allows every user to build his own initials
for the Msg-Editor. In there, he can simply insert this
initials with the `.si` command of the editor.
### LANGUAGE
LAnguage Allows the user to load a favorite language that has
been installed by the SYSOP.
This chosen language is stored in the userfile and is
automatically loaded at the next login.
### STATISTICS
STatistics Lng listing of your own personal datas and the statistics
of all your activity in this system.
### PENALTY
Penalty <USER> Give a penalty to <USER>. If it`s his 3rd one his level
is decremented.
Every time you use this command you are prompted for the
reason for the penalty. The user will be sent a message
which contains the date, the user who sent it and the
reason for it.
If you don`t enter <USER> you`ll be prompted for it.
Press <RETURN> there to abort.
### SYSINFO
SYsinfo System-overview including i.e: No. of users, calls ,No. of
common and private messages, No. of files and some other
systemstatistics.
### PARTICIPANT
PArticipant <USER> Shows a short info about <USER>. It doesn`t include such
personal things like real name, adress, phone-number ...
Only the SYSOP can see this datas !!!
### UPLOAD
Upload Send a binary file into the actual board (only binary)
by using a filetransferprotocol.
Upload <USER> Send a binary file into <USER>`s PM
There are 5 protocols available at this moment:
1. X-Modem Checksum

### USERLIST
USerlist * List all usere of this system only by names.
USerlist + Long listing of all users including name, last call, last
bps-rate, No. of calls and computertype.
USerlist <XYZ> Listing like <+> separated to usere whose name contains
the entered chars <XYZ> at the beginning.
If no parameter is entered you will be prompted for it.
### REPRESENTATIVE
REPresentative KILL Erases an eventually existing representative.
REPresent. <USER> Set <USER> as representative for all personal messages,
that are sent to you. (i.e: when you`re on holiday)
### SALESMAN
SAlesman Selling information about SMBX-System.
### VT100
VT100 Switch to activate/deactivate the VT100/ANSI-Emulation.
See `CURSOR` for more information.
### FORWARD
FOrward <No> Forward message/file <No> to another user/board.
You`re then prompted for the receiver`s name, whether the
forwarded message should get a forward-header and whether
the sourcemessage should be erased or not.
It`s not possible to forward ASCII-Msgs into binary-boards
and reverse.
### TIME
Time Shows the username, date and time of the login , the
maximum logintime and the remeining time.
### ZONE
ZOne Comand to enter the zone for the exact calculation of
your phone-rate for your calls.
### ACCESS
ACCess * Allow all users access to the actual board.
ACCess ? List all usere that have access to the actual board.
ACCess +<USER> Give <USER> access to the actual board.
ACCess -<USER> Remove <USER>`s access to the actual board.
NOTICE: Because of security, this command is only
~~~~~~~ available in LOCAL-login mode !
